Very Effective Weight Loss Strategies

In this article today I would like to discuss several tips, tricks, and techniques that almost anybody can use to help lose weight quickly and effectively and as pain-free as possible.

Losing weight can be one of the most difficult things that anybody engages in. Let’s face it, we live in a fast food society where it’s incredibly easy to grab a bag of chips or a handful of cookies or pop a frozen pizza in to the oven. And most of us work incredibly long and growing hours at our jobs which have become sedentary. All of this leads to the fact that many of us are overweight and we don’t have the time or the energy to take that weight back off again.

Fortunately there are several things you can do to help lose weight and that’s what I would like to talk about in this article today.

My first tip involves eating at restaurants. One of the worst parts of eating in a restaurant is the 10 minutes before the meal and the 10 minutes after the meal because most restaurants provide bread to eat during this time (and dessert at the end). Unfortunately the bread is not very healthy and since we don’t have anything else to do while we wait, we tend to eat too much of it. I suggest you skip bread altogether at restaurants. Instead have a shrimp cocktail or some tomato juice instead while you wait.

At the end of the restaurant meal instead of a high calorie dessert, why not try a cup of fruit instead. Cutting out bread before and dessert after restaurant meals can have a huge impact on your weight loss.

The next tip involves watching television. It’s very easy to snack while we watch television and it’s very easy to over-snack as well. We’ve all been there, you sit down to watch a half-hour TV show with a bag of cookies only meaning to eat a couple and before you know it the TV show is over and the bag of cookies is empty. Instead whenever you watch TV, enjoy a cool or hot drink instead. Herbal tea works nicely in these circumstances especially if you don’t add sugar or honey to it.

Finally, when trying to lose weight it’s important to resist cravings but this can be easier said than done. One effective strategy that I use to resist cravings is to tell myself that I’ll wait just 10 minutes and then have a snack. Usually after 10 minutes is up my craving is gone and I’ve forgotten that I was even hungry because I’m usually busy doing something else. You’d be amazed how effective this little trick can be in reducing cravings and therefore reducing overeating and promoting weight loss.

So there you have several very simple and easy to follow tips and tricks that anybody can use to help lose weight very quickly and effectively. Hopefully these tips get you started down the road to healthy living and a long life.
